Something is shifting on Avalanche, and the price chart makes it impossible to miss.
AVAX is up a staggering 43.4% in just seven days. That kind of move alone would be the headline on most weeks.
But underneath the price, the network just quietly posted its strongest fee generation in a week too, and that number tells a story price alone can’t.
The Number That Caught Everyone’s Attention
Avalanche hit peak revenue mode over the weekend. The network generated roughly $20,000 in daily transaction fees on September 20. That number has since climbed even further.
DefiLlama’s fees dashboard shows Avalanche pulling in $536,741.19 in fees over the past 24 hours alone, with $8.96 million generated over the past 30 days and a weekly change of +9.56%.

That’s a sharp jump from where the network stood just two days earlier, and it lines up almost perfectly with AVAX’s price surge over the same stretch.
A Backdrop Worth Watching Closely
Fee spikes like this rarely happen in isolation. BlackRock backed a new $1 billion crypto liquidity network earlier this year, part of a broader wave of institutions building real infrastructure on top of blockchain rails.
Avalanche has spent this year positioning itself for exactly this kind of institutional attention, through tokenized funds, real-world asset deployments, and enterprise partnerships.
A fee spike on its own means little. A fee spike arriving alongside that kind of institutional buildup means something more.
Why This Matters More Than It Looks
Fees are one of the cleanest signals a blockchain can give. Price can move on speculation alone. Fees can’t. Someone has to actually use the network to generate them.
When fees climb alongside price, it usually means real activity is backing the rally, not just traders chasing a chart.
Avalanche’s fee peak landing on a weekend fits that same pattern of momentum building when fewer people are watching.
Price Has Already Moved Far Ahead
AVAX traded at $10.82 as of 14:04 UTC on September 22, 2026, up 43.4% over seven days, per CoinGecko. That’s one of the sharpest weekly moves any major token has posted this month.
The chart shows a steep, almost uninterrupted climb from around $7.50 on September 16 to above $11.30 by September 21. Price has pulled back only slightly since, settling near $10.82.

A move this size usually needs a real catalyst behind it. That’s exactly why the fee data matters so much right now.
What Could Come Next Is the Real Question
JPMorgan filed to launch a second tokenized Treasury fund this year, this time targeting Ethereum, a sign that major banks are actively choosing which chains to build on next.
Avalanche has spent months courting this same kind of institutional interest.
The fee spike could be the start of something bigger. Or it could fade like many single-week spikes do. The next few weeks should make that clear.
