BNB Chain Just Gave Builders More Room — The Next Wave Could Be Coming

BNB Chain just gave builders more room to work with, and the fix targets a very specific bottleneck.

With the Pasteur hard fork activated on August 25, 2026, BEP-675 gives block builders more usable time inside each 450-millisecond block, according to BNB Chain’s announcement on X

Techgaged previously tracked BNB’s price alongside this same network momentum, when the token climbed higher as part of a broader altcoin rally that pulled Ethereum and Solana up with it.

The Bottleneck This Actually Fixes

Under the old system, a builder executed transactions before submitting a proposed block, and the validator executed them all over again before signing.

That duplicate work ate into the 450-millisecond window, sometimes leaving blocks underfilled. BEP-675 lets builders submit blocks they’ve already executed.

Validators check the block against consensus rules, sign it, and broadcast it, then complete full verification afterward rather than before.

The Numbers Behind the Upgrade

Validator re-work time on the critical path drops from 125 milliseconds to 15 milliseconds.

That change alone increases the usable builder window from 30% of each block to 45%, according to the technical spec published on BNB Chain’s GitHub

Block time and the 100 million gas limit stay exactly the same. In controlled QANet testing, this approach pushed throughput from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second, roughly an 88% increase, while average gas used per block rose from 46.35 million to 84.15 million.

BNB Chain has been clear that these are controlled test results, not confirmed mainnet numbers.

What Builders Actually Have to Do

Adopting the new route isn’t mandatory. Builders can keep using the previous validator-execution model if they choose.

Those who switch to the new SendBidBlock path need to run a full node, and the feature only became available for use after Pasteur activated, giving teams time to integrate before flipping it on.

BNB’s Price Reflects the Momentum

BNB traded at $753.36 on September 5, 2026 (13:00 UTC), up 9.5% over seven days. The chart shows the shape of that move clearly.

Price held between $680 and $700 for most of the stretch from August 30 through September 3.

It broke sharply higher on September 4, climbing past $720 and holding there before spiking again to $753 by September 5.

That timing puts the token’s strongest weekly gain right on top of the network upgrade news, not ahead of it.

What This Means Going Forward

An 88% throughput gain in testing is a meaningful number, but it came from a controlled environment designed to mirror BSC’s validator setup rather than live network conditions.

The real test comes once enough builders actually adopt the SendBidBlock path on mainnet.

If adoption spreads and those testnet gains hold up under real trading volume, BNB Chain gets a genuine capacity boost without needing to touch block time or gas limits again, the kind of quiet infrastructure win that tends to matter more in six months than it does this week.
