Base’s tokenized stock market just posted a number that’s hard to overstate. Cumulative trading volume for Coinbase’s tokenized equities on Base hit $94.6 million.
It represents a jump of 38,698.9%, according to a Token Terminal chart tracking the four assets. The surge covers just over a week of activity, since the product only went live on August 24, 2026.

How the Launch Works
Coinbase introduced four tokenized stocks on Base at launch: NVDAc, GOOGLc, AAPLc, and METAc, each a 1:1 backed claim on shares of Nvidia, Alphabet, Apple, and Meta held in regulated custody.
The tokens run on Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure for pricing, which also lets the assets be used as collateral across Base’s DeFi apps, keeping the structure bankruptcy-remote from Coinbase’s own balance sheet.
Which Assets Are Driving It
NVDAc leads with $53.7 million of the $94.6 million all-time total. GOOGLc follows at $17.1 million, AAPLc at $12.9 million, and METAc at $10.9 million.
Volume sat near flat through mid-August, then spiked sharply from August 24 onward, peaking around $30 million near August 27, a pattern that tracks the actual launch date rather than a slow ramp.
The Liquidity Behind the Surge
Much of the trading routes through Aerodrome, Base’s largest DEX and the named day-one liquidity provider for all four tokens.
AERO itself jumped roughly 11.6% in the 24 hours after launch, according to CoinMarketCap, with traders increasingly treating it as a proxy for Base’s tokenized-stock narrative.
Where This Fits the Bigger Picture
Tokenized equities remain a small slice of on-chain RWAs. Techgaged previously reported they made up just over 4% of tokenized RWA value, with Treasuries still dominating.
Techgaged also flagged Coinbase’s own pushback against unclear rules, calling an earlier bill draft a de facto ban on tokenized equities.
Launch-week volume that is concentrated in one venue and four tickers tends to cool once the novelty fades.
Coinbase’s custody structure and Aerodrome’s liquidity depth give this product a real shot at holding a meaningful share of on-chain trading as more stocks get added in the coming weeks.
