Meta Launches USDC Payments for Colombian and Filipino Creators, More Coming

In Brief

  • • Meta has introduced USDC payouts for creators in two markets, with plans for a global rollout.
  • • Users can connect crypto wallets and receive earnings via Solana and Polygon.
  • • The move signals a push toward faster, more flexible payment options for creators worldwide.

Tech giant Meta has launched USDC payouts for creators in Colombia and the Philippines, announcing plans to add more than 150 markets to the currently short list.

Meta now offers the stablecoin payouts to creators on its platform through crypto wallets on the Solana and Polygon networks, the announcement says.

While available in just two countries at the launch time, Polygon announced that the company will expand this service to creators in “160+” markets, which would presumably make it globally available. Moreover, “with off-ramps in 150+ countries, our Open Money Stack expands financial access and improves how creators receive and use earnings globally,” Polygon writes.

Polygon added that Meta paid creators some $3 billion across monetization programs in 2025. This, they claimed, is “billions of dollars in payments added to Polygon’s trillions.” It’s also the way to improve creators’ lives, it concluded.

Circle’s USDC is currently the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization with over $77.32 billion (on April 30), behind Tether’s USDT with $189.48 billion.

Users Connect Crypto Wallets Directly To Meta

Eligible users can now connect their wallet to Meta payouts, and they’ll receive a Facebook app notification asking them to enter the wallet address. They must use one of the supported crypto wallets that accept USDC on either Solana or Polygon.

Subsequently, they can choose to convert USDC to their local currency via a centralized exchange. After this, creators can move their funds to a bank account or another payment method.

The FAQ also notes that creators may receive specific crypto-related reporting from Stripe for stablecoin payments. This is in addition to the standard tax forms that they are obligated to submit.

Finally, should there be issues and Meta is unable to process a creator’s payout via cryptocurrency, it“may pay creators “through another payment method,” the company claims.

Overall, this is major move for the company, which is the owner of some of the world’s largest creator platforms, Instagram and Facebook, with 6 billion monthly active users combined. Meta also launched Threads in 2023, which has some 400 million monthly active users as of early 2026.
