Solana Builds Real-Time Threat Detection and Response Network

In Brief

  • • Solana launched real-time security and response systems.
  • • The framework adds monitoring and incident coordination.
  • • Focus on DeFi security is increasing.

Solana Foundation has introduced two new security initiatives, STRIDE and the Solana Incident Response Network (SIRN), aimed at tightening protection across its growing ecosystem. The rollout includes real-time threat monitoring, formal verification for major protocols, and a coordinated response system for active incidents. The move reflects rising pressure to secure decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms as more capital flows into the network.

A structured push for stronger protocol security

According to Solana Foundation’s press release shared on April 6, STRIDE was developed in cooperation with Asymmetric Research and is designed as a full security framework covering evaluation, monitoring, and ongoing risk management for Solana-based projects.

Protocols that meet its standards will undergo continuous threat monitoring, especially those holding more than $10 million in total value locked. Larger protocols exceeding $100 million in TVL will also receive formal verification, a process that mathematically checks smart contract behavior across all possible scenarios.

The results of these evaluations will be made public, giving users more visibility into the security posture of the protocols they interact with. Beyond prevention, the goal is early detection. By identifying suspicious activity before it escalates, Solana is trying to reduce the kind of incidents that typically lead to large-scale losses.

Real-time response network targets active threats

Alongside STRIDE, SIRN introduces a coordinated response layer for when attacks actually happen. The network brings together security firms and researchers to share intelligence and react quickly to threats across the ecosystem.

Founding members include firms already active in Solana security, working together on a 24/7 basis.

Meanwhile, Solana’s native token, SOL, is yet to feel the positive effects of these developments. Specifically, it was at press time trading at the price of $80.08, down 2.3% in the last 24 hours, 3.9% across the past seven days, and 2.8% over the month, according to the most recent chart information.

As it happens, most blockchains focus heavily on prevention, but response speed often determines how much damage an attack causes. Solana is now trying to cover both sides.

All things considered, as DeFi grows as a sector, security equals infrastructure.
