Bitcoin, XRP and ETH coins
As the interest in crypto continues to rise, NBA stars are no longer left out, as some of them seek advice on buying more XRP and ETH.
In a video shared on 29 September, NBA star Tristan Thompson who’s also a crypto enthusiast said his colleagues asked in chats whether to get some more of the assets.
This reflects the extent of interest in crypto assets outside of the traditional crypto space and suggests wider adoption of not just Bitcoin but also altcoins.
Crypto entering mainstream
Cryptocurrencies have started to enter the mainstream sector and adoption has been growing rapidly in different industries.
Several athletes have also shown interest in the assets, one of which is Tristan who has openly been in support of the technology. The star has also predicted that Bitcoin will hit $150,000 before the end of 2025.
In the video, he said he has encouraged his colleagues to hold the crypto assets they have for the long term and bet on it the same way they betted on themselves to end up in the NBA.
There are several other NBA stars like him who are not only crypto fans and investors but are also ambassadors for different crypto platforms.
The opening of the NBA — a premiere basketball league — to crypto opens the door to endless possibilities as these teams have millions of fans particularly in America and Canada.
XRP gaining popularity
XRP is one of the altcoins gaining the most popularity recently, with many investors betting on its future. This is partly because of its technology which facilitates fast and cheap cross-border payments.
The parent company Ripple has played a key role in the remittance sector for years, and investors may be finally starting to recognize its role in making payments easier.
As a result, many are rushing to it in hope of a brighter future and with stars like Thompson backing it, the token may actually see some good days ahead.
