CZ Confirms Upcoming Debate with Peter Schiff in Historic Showdown

Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has confirmed his upcoming debate with gold bug Peter Schiff. The two will be debating on Bitcoin vs tokenized gold at the Binance Blockchain Week event in Dubai next month.

CZ in an X post confirmed his acceptance of Peter Schiff’s earlier challenge to debate with him on the subject of which asset is better.

With the idea of tokenized real world assets now at the forefront of blockchain technology, Schiff has taken his argument a notch higher by comparing Bitcoin with tokenized gold.

Settling the Long Debate on Bitcoin and Gold

Since the creation of Bitcoin in 2009, proponents of the asset have referred to it as digital gold, and this has stirred much controversy which Schiff has been in the center of.

Over the years, Schiff has pronounced Bitcoin dead several times and always emphasized the advantage that gold has over the coin.

He recently challenged CZ to this debate probably because of the Binance former CEO’s recent responses to some of his tweets on the subject.

With the upcoming debate, the two titans may finally put the argument to rest with a winner emerging.

Bitcoin vs Gold Performance Over the Years

Both Bitcoin and gold have proven to be worthy stores of value over the years. However, bitcoin has far outperformed gold considering how long the latter has existed.

As stated by CZ, Bitcoin rose from a fraction of a cent to be worth $110,000 in the 16 years of its existence, which is an extraordinary return on investment.

Gold on the other hand just exceeded $4000 for the first time this year in its centuries of existence, making it clear which asset is the better.
