This Is How Much Ethereum Tom Lee’s Bitmine Has Staked
Tom Lee’s cryptocurrency mining and infrastructure firm Bitmine is rapidly becoming one of the largest Ethereum (ETH) staking entities in the world.
Arkham Intelligence data shared by blockchain and cryptocurrency industry analytics platform Lookonchain in an X post earlier on January 15 shows that Bitmine staked an additional 154,304 ETH, worth roughly $514 million, in just five hours.
That brings the firm’s total staked Ethereum balance to a staggering 1,685,088 ETH, valued at approximately $5.62 billion.
The transactions were routed through multiple Bitmine-linked wallets before being deposited into Ethereum’s official staking contract, signaling a coordinated and deliberate accumulation strategy and not a one-off move.
Bitmine’s Ethereum Stash Now Ranks Among The Largest
With more than 1.68 million ETH locked into staking, Bitmine now sits among the largest known institutional Ethereum holders globally.
Blockchain data shows repeated large transfers ranging from 15,000 to 34,000 ETH per transaction, with deposits funneled directly into Ethereum’s validator infrastructure. Several of the wallets have been active continuously for over 24 hours, indicating an ongoing staking campaign.
At current prices, Bitmine’s Ethereum position rivals the size of some of the largest crypto treasuries in the industry, putting it in the same league as major custodians and early Ethereum whales. In fact, not even some large exchanges can outmatch it.
Why Ethereum Staking Is Attracting Big Money
Ethereum staking has increasingly become a preferred strategy for institutions seeking yield without selling their crypto holdings.
By staking ETH, Bitmine earns validator rewards while maintaining long-term exposure to Ethereum’s price. This strategy allows firms to generate income while positioning themselves for future upside if Ethereum continues its role as the backbone of decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization, and on-chain infrastructure.
Since Ethereum transitioned to proof-of-stake (PoS), staking has become a core pillar of the network’s security and economic model, and large players are racing to lock in their share.
Tom Lee’s Long-Term Crypto Vision
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and a longtime Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto market strategist, has consistently argued that digital assets represent the next major phase of financial infrastructure.
Bitmine’s aggressive Ethereum accumulation aligns with Lee’s broader thesis that blockchain networks will play a central role in capital markets, payments, and tokenized assets.
With more than $5.6 billion now committed to Ethereum staking, Bitmine is positioning itself as a cornerstone of Ethereum’s financial future.
Meanwhile, the price of ETH stands at $3,315.70, indicating a 1.7% drop in the last 24 hours, a gain of 6.6% across the previous seven days, and an 11.9% increase in the past month, according to the latest chart information.
