Tesla deploys first-ever Unsupervised FSD in Europe – but there’s a catch

Amid constant innovations from Tesla’s engineering labs, the popular electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer has just deployed its Unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) for the first time in Europe – albeit only within the Giga Berlin complex.

Specifically, it looks like the Model Y units produced at Giga Berlin now autonomously transport themselves from the end of the production line to their designated holding areas, as visible from a video posted by the Tesla AI team in an X post on September 3.

Tesla FSD in action in Giga Berlin

Indeed, according to the video demonstration, a Model Y unit is navigating the factory premises by itself, stopping by the on-site Supercharger, and then parking in the outbound lot. Another video shows the car going through the factory as various employees are working on it.

Commenting on the videos, Giga Berlin plant manager André Thierig said that “every Tesla we built has the ability to drive autonomously and we use this feature 100% for outbound operations, starting from the light tunnel until the car arrives at the outbound yard! Really impressive!” adding that he “cannot wait to see this on European roads outside the factory.”

Earlier in August, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed a potential timeline of “3 to 6 months” for an unprecedented self-driving feature – the ability for drivers to play video games while behind the wheel, which is something not yet possible for anyone using Tesla’s FSD as it is until it becomes fully autonomous.

More recently, he teased a wild new model of the FSD suite with multiple improvements that could bring the feature to a whole new level from what we could experience in the current models, stating that it has about 10 times the parameters of the existing lineup.
