Tesla confirms new Sentry Mode feature for Cybertruck – security goes next-level

Amid continuous innovations that the popular electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla brings to the table, the company has just confirmed that its famous Cybertruck is now getting a cool new feature that will bring the security of Tesla’s popular vehicle to a whole new level.

As it happens, the security feature called Sentry Mode is getting a massive update in the form of deploying the B-Pillar camera to deter vandals, and Cybertruck Vehicle Program Manager Siddhant Awasthi has personally confirmed that it is indeed coming, in a response to an X post on August 14.

Missing B-Pillar Sentry feature comes to Tesla Cybertruck

Specifically, X user and Cybertruck enthusiast Greggertruck has publicly wondered if and when the B-Pillar Sentry would launch for Cybertruck, having pushed for an answer from Tesla CEO Elon Musk and AI Vice President Ashok Elluswamy for months, and finally, he got an answer from Awasthi.

According to Greggertruck’s X post from July 16, Cybertruck is the “most sought-after-to-vandalize vehicle, and [Tesla] still haven’t given it B pillar recording… months after you gave it to everybody else. So frustrating. The Cybertruck needs to [sic] B pillar recording more than any other vehicle,” urging the Tesla team to release it.

Meanwhile, the guys and gals at Tesla in charge of Cybertruck development have introduced another feature that makes their product more reliable and secure – a warning system that alerts the owner when they’re pushing it close to the upper payload capacity limit of 11,000 lbs of Dual Motor and Tri Motor All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) configurations.

Elsewhere, Tesla’s Vice President of Powertrain, Lars Moravy, has suggested a new compact pickup truck was in the works, which would be more appropriate for the tighter roads in Europe and Asia, although he hasn’t specified whether this would be a smaller Cybertruck or an entirely new vehicle.
