Step into Hogwarts: Apple Vision Pro brings Great Hall to life

As the innovations in the world of consumer technology continue, Apple Vision Pro has brought in a new HBO Max app update that allows Harry Potter fans to walk into the Hogwarts Great Hall and experience what it was like for Harry and his friends.

Indeed, HBO has expanded its support for Apple Vision Pro with an update that allows users to take an immersive walk through the Hogwarts Great Hall, browsing and streaming in one of the most famous places in the popular franchise, according to the X post by tech personality Ben Geskin on August 21.

Entering Hogwarts’ Great Hall

Specifically, the immersive experience has Day and Night modes, with the former demonstrating the Great Hall’s tall ceilings and long banquet tables, while the latter gives way to floating candles and ambient sound effects from the Harry Potter movies themselves.

As it happens, the familiar student and teacher (and an occasional magical creature) gathering spot in Harry Potter’s school is the second environment that HBO has developed for Vision Pro, the first one being the Iron Throne from the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon series.

Meanwhile, to gain access to this amazing new feature, subscribers need to have HBO Max version 6.2.0 and visionOS 2.6 or newer. The only thing left is to download the update, put on your wizard robe, grab your wand, and have fun exploring the Great Hall of Hogwarts.

Elsewhere, the Harry Potter franchise made headlines in June 2025, when it came out that Llama 3.1 was able to recall nearly half of The Sorcerer’s Stone book (also known as The Philosopher’s Stone) well enough to reproduce 50-token excerpts, raising copyright infringement concerns.
