Mario Kart World receives major 1.3.0 update: Here’s what’s new

Nintendo has released a major update to Mario Kart World alongside the version 1.3.0 release which is now available for download.

According to a note on the website, the update released on 23 September comes with some new changes and features to make gaming more fun and rewarding.

Several issues with the game have also been fixed in this update, so every player is encouraged to download and install the latest version to enjoy.

Notable changes 

There are several new changes to the game as well as new features. As a result of the update, players can now enjoy flexibility and fun.

For example, up to 2 players can now play Free Roam while waiting if the game is full when trying to join friends playing Race, Knockout Tour or Battle in Online Play.

It is now easier to encounter UFOs in Free Roam and when spectating in Knockout Tour or Balloon Battle in Online Play or Wireless Play, players can now choose who to watch, whether they are holding the Joy-Con 2 or Joy-Con horizontally.

There is also a decrease in the time between when an item box is taken by someone and the next time it is revived, as well as Increase in the invincible time after spinning or crashing during a race.

Furthermore, the new update has increased the frequency of lap-type courses appearing in the selection when choosing the next course in VS Race and wireless races.

These are just a few of the many changes that come with the new update aimed at making the gaming experience much better.

How to install

According to the note, the update must be applied in order to use the game’s Internet features which require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. 

First, the Nintendo Switch 2 console must be connected to the internet to download and install the update.

Next, proceed to the HOME Menu and select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.

Next, press the + Button or – Button on your controller, and the current version number will display under the software title. Now, select Software Update followed by Over the Internet.

Once installed, all the new features, changes, and fixes will be applied to your Mario Kart World game.
