Google’s AI Overviews in Search now available in more than 100 countries – have you checked?
Google has expanded the availability of its AI Overviews in Search to over 100 countries in a new expansion move.
According to an announcement on 28 October, the feature will also be available in more languages in supported countries.
The new rollout makes it easier to find useful information in searches and connect with publishers, businesses and creators, the company said.
AI Overviews getting popular
Google launched AI Overviews in May this year in the United States, and expanded to more countries in August. Because of the positive feedback coming from users, it has decided to extend the feature to over 100 countries this time.
This covers supported languages in such countries, including English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The company projects that this new expansion brings the feature to over a billion monthly users worldwide.
AI Overviews will start rolling out this week and will be progressively available to users in different countries over the coming days, the announcement says.
Users can see the AI Overviews prominently on their phones or computers when they search for information on Google going forward.
There is a right-hand link display on desktop and on mobile, and users can access it by simply tapping on the site icons on the upper-right.
Expanding on AI
Google has been expanding its use of AI recently to improve user experience across its platforms. Just last week, it launched AI-assisted customized content creation on Google Doc.
The company also rolled out an improved version of Google Shopping using AI to help users save time on searching for things, as well as offer them the best options to save money on purchases.
It also launched its latest and most advanced image generation model, Imagen 3, earlier this month.
