Breaking: Samsung surprise-launches One UI 8 Beta 4 for Galaxy S25

Amid the growing anticipation for its first triple foldable smartphone, Samsung continues to bring other innovations while we wait, this time in the form of a surprise launch of One UI 8 Beta 4 for its Galaxy S25 product lineup.

Indeed, Samsung has already released the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE with stable One UI 8, with the rest of the tech giant’s products waiting for their stable release, but the recently released Galaxy S25 series is getting One UI 8 Beta 4, per the changelog shared by Tarun Vats on July 30.

Specifically, the fourth One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series weighs 1.3GB and has the version number S938BXXU5ZYGB / S938BOXM5ZYGB / S938BXXU5BYGB, depending on the region where it’s rolling out. For now, it’s available in Germany, South Korea, and India.

One UI 8 Beta 4 details

According to the changelog, the innovations coming with the fourth One UI 8 beta include Samsung IMS Service emergency update feature to support HD voice, video, and enhanced chat services, as well as support for full screen switching when playing videos using DeX.

Furthermore, Samsung has fixed an operational issue with Galaxy AI Reply Suggestions, a loading issue when voice-triggering Bixby routine commands, a display issue in the quick launch icon area on the lock screen, and an issue with editing iNavi dashcam videos in the Gallery app.

Other fixes refer to the message ‘Fingerprint sensor not responding’ on the lock screen, an issue with outgoing calls when attempting ‘Swipe to Call’ from the Contacts list with TalkBack enabled, and a flickering issue of the vertical/horizontal level indicator when switching from front to rear camera.

Finally, Samsung’s new build has introduced enhanced software stability through updates to multiple apps.

Meanwhile, the smartphone giant might launch its breakthrough tri-fold product in October, judging by the claims of a long-time leaker, Ice Universe, who declared on Weibo that this device will come out one month after Huawei’s second-generation Mate XT.

Elsewhere, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 has gone through some exceptionally brutal durability tests and has performed great in terms of aggressive folding and more, despite its inner display not advancing much when it comes to resistance to scratches.
