Apple’s foldable iPhone display sizes just leaked
In what seems like a month of leaks from major technology companies, Apple’s foldable iPhone display sizes have just leaked, indicating that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will carry a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer display.
Indeed, Taiwanese research firm TrendForce said that Apple will probably launch its first foldable phone in the second half of 2026, and it will feature a 5.5-inch external display alongside a 7.8-inch internal display, although the tech giant is yet to confirm this information, per a report on July 22.
Rumors mount of foldable iPhone display sizes
That said, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo already suggested those same display sizes for the foldable iPhone back in March this year, stating that the upcoming phone “will have book-style design, featuring an approximately 7.8-inch crease-free inner display and an approximately 5.5-inch outer display.”
This means that there is more than one source pointing at those sizes, provided that TrendForce isn’t simply regurgitating Kuo’s words.
Last week, Kuo again shared that the upcoming foldable will have a crease-free inner display, adding that Apple would achieve this with the use of a laser-drilled metal display plate, which can disperse the stress generated by bending.
Furthermore, he also believes that the foldable iPhone would include two rear cameras, one front camera, and a Touch ID power button returning as a side button instead of Face ID, which Apple might drop due to thickness and internal space constraints.
Meanwhile, another recent leak by a long-time leaker known online as Ice Universe has suggested a possible launch month for the breakthrough Samsung tri-fold. Specifically, Samsung’s first triple-screen foldable – potentially named the Galaxy G Fold – might be launching in October this year.
Elsewhere, iOS users are getting access to Apple’s newest operating system – iOS 26 – which has come out in public beta launch days after an anonymous leaker shared multiple build numbers for the fourth developer betas of iOS 26 and more.
