Fortunately, a Redditor who got a translated version of the email from the German Pixel community on 15 October shared it in the Google Pixel Reddit community.

What this means for Pixel phones

News of the upgrade is an exciting update in the Google Pixel Community, as many members are looking forward to what is coming. By the announcement, some compatible Pixel phones and tablets can expect the rollout later today.

With the upgrade, users can expect the October Pixel Feature Drop, which may come with some improvements on existing ones. An example could be some new features on the Pixel watch, which may be available today.

Others are a more efficient AV1 software decoder (dav1d), as well better PDF handling and superior font rendering. The new upgrade will also allow more free space on devices by enabling app archiving.

The new Android 15 will at the same time allow users to create a private space to keep sensitive apps under higher protection. What’s more? Apps will be able to prioritize power efficiency for certain workloads with the new APIs in the upgrade.

However, users who already have the Android 15 QPR1 beta will not get the stable build today until after they leave the beta program. They can then access the upgrade afterwards when they are prompted to update their devices.

Supported phones

For the upgrade starting today, supported phones start from the Pixel 6 and later, including the newly launched Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Some users have already confirmed receipt of the update while some are yet to, but if you use any of the supported devices, you can expect the Android 15 update today.
